We are re-opening the call for OC of ESN Academy, with a new deadline of the 15th of February 2016 at 23:59 CET to apply.

Below you can find the summary of some key points.

Why is this event special?

ESN Academy will be the second event to benefit from the financial support that comes from the EYF Work Plan that we receive from the Council of Europe in 2016. This will be the largest ever Eduk8 event, with more than 100 people in attendance, so it's similar to a Regional Platform in size!

Budgeting

Here is a list of typical costs for this event:
  1. Accommodation and meals = €22 per day x 5 days x 116 people = €12,760
  2. Local transportation = €2 per day x 5 days x 116 people = €1160
  3. Venue rental = €3 per day x 5 days x 116 people = €1740
  4. Workshop material = €500
This basic budget amounts to €16,160 but it may be higher.

These categories are flexible, so if you don't need money for local transportation or venue rental, there's room to move in other directions. Despite receiving funding, grant activities are never fully-funded, a certain amount always has to be co-funded. Typically we do this through participation fees and other forms of sponsorships that OCs can secure.

Grant funding

The maximum you would look to receive from the grant is €9,050.

If your budget is around €17,000 like stated in the original open call, you would need to co-finance the event with roughly €8,000, which works out to an €80 participation fee (only 100 people will be paying the participation fee). If your total budget is higher than this, that's where external sponsors, support from your National Board, etc. comes into play to help keep the fee low.

Sounds great, what now?
